Nurses in USA start at at about 20 dollard an hour. This is regardless of the specialty area. They can have either a 2 year degree, 4 year degree, or a 6 year degree. They all get paid the same unless they work in management. After you have a nursing degree you must take a board exam and pass that before you are allowed to practice in any state. The salary will go up with years of experience.

if you got money, some place will accept you. Welcome to American culture

id apply to the colleges u are thinking of going into. GPA is a thing they look at but they also look at ur other activities , such as sports , community services and many others. id write maybe an essay about yourself and send app in. never hurts to apply -_-. good luck and some community colleges teach nursing asweell. Good Luck

You would have to research different schools, but from what I know a lot of schools look at experience, recommendations, test scores and especially personal statements. They want someone who will contribute to the school's reputation. Trust me, I understand how u feel. I have a B.A in Psych and my overall gpa was 2.8, I was too nervous to apply to grad schools because I didn't think I could get in and I wasn't sure if I would end up getting the type of money I wanted with the jobs I would be most likely to get.

Can you use degree's that are obtained in other countries in the USA?
I wanted to move to brazil for a few years and teach english while going to a college there. Will my degree in nursing be valid in the US when I get back? or will I need to reattend school here?

Certain degrees obtained from other countries such as nursing will require additional education and training in the United States once you return. Some degrees will not transfer at all, meaning you would have to start again - I would check with the correct authorities and universities about the possibilty of a Brazilian nursing degree transfering to the United States.
