umm what the hell is this? i mean i experience racism towards my own people (indian) so racism is not just in one group its in all groups of people.

those filipina nurses just arent used to noisy people. they think being loud and black is ragedy. they dont know any better. filipinos generally are people who like to criticize. it's how they try to feed their ego. knowing that they're better than someone in atleast one way.

to the person above me your people are rude, nasty, loud, stuckup, and you were slaves in the USA right next to us. The only reason you have gotten any where now is because all the nurses are from the philipines not the usa. You people have no personality, you steal a piece from everyone to make up one and you have your nerve trying to put down black people. If you know how white people can't stand you you'd quit thinking you are all that. White people refer to filipino's as n g r s to so don't around thinking you are the perfect race your not. I could go a little more but I think you need to know you ain't no better than any one else. Did you know during the world's fair when the ST Louis Arch was built white people kept filipino's in a cage because they thought you were monkeys and put you on display. They don't like you either and no black should either. You are the most racist people and actually have nerve to put some else down. a s s h o l e.

Moving to USA from UK at 18 with the family, so nervous! will I fit in

Moving to USA from UK at 18 with the family, so nervous! will I fit in?
ALSO what is the equivalent of university in USA? Very confused and hoping to sort it out when I get there. I've finished college here and hoping to study nursing!

Sorry, I don't really understand the "equivalent of university in USA" part. But the US is a great place to study about nursing and becoming one! Although I am not from the UK, I do know how it is like to move from one place to another. My father was asked to move to Shanghai, China from San Jose, California for a higher position in his job. At that time, I was quite young, only 9 years old. Luckily I spoke Chinese because my father was born in China. Your lucky you are moving to a country where you at least speak the same language, even if you have different accents. As you probably know, the US is a country where there are many different people with different backgrounds. So there are many different accents everywhere. When I moved to China, I was surprised at how different it was. It was nothing like what I thought. China is still kind of behind in culture. The people there have such a different life. They did outrageous things that I thought was disgusting beyond belief, rude, and very unclean! But then again, everyone is raised up differently. So I think if you be yourself, people will like you and you will fit in easily, because true friends should like you for who you are and what you do. It's always good to be a little different from everyone else. If everyone was the same, wore the same clothes, acted in the same way, this world would be very boring. I hope I helped and best of luck in your new home!

In the US, universities and colleges are used almost interchangeably. The progression is high school (usually grades 9-12) to college (4 year undergrad degree) to grad school (2 yr Masters, 4-6 yr Doctorate). There are a lot of deviations from this (community college, professional school, trade, etc), but that is the most basic. For nursing, there are many levels, including some that require no university, but just specific training to some with Bachelors and Masters degrees. There are a LOT of nursing schools here, though. Will you fit in? That depends on your personality, and how willing you are to accept that we do things differently here. Our pronunciations and spellings are different, not wrong. We are louder, and tend to do things bigger than you are probably used to. We can be crass and petulant, but turn right around and be the most generous people you could imagine. We come from all over the world, and the "American culture" is one that changes and flexes all the time. Just do your best to accept the differences without a lot of commentary, answer questions about whatever nation you lived in (you'll be shocked at how little geography or world politics Americans generally know), and you'll be fine. Your accent (yes, when you are here, it is YOU who has the accent) will get a fair amount of positive attention, as we generally like foreigners from east of us (south gets some trouble right now, but east is good). Oh, and football is a game where the ball rarely touches feet, while soccer is only just starting to gain some attention. Rugby doesn't really exist (sadly), and cricket is of no real interest to almost anyone. We play our football, baseball, basketball, and somewhat hockey. Be a little familiar with each of them, and you'll be able to break the ice with a lot of people here. Good luck!

Just watch Cricket and Soccer. And go to pubs you will fit in just fine.

Is USA Scholarship Services legit, and should you have to pay to process the application

Is USA Scholarship Services legit, and should you have to pay to process the application?
I received a letter today stating that I am eligable for a scholarship for people majoring in Nursing. It says that there is a $25 processing fee, but it would be refunded if you fail to qualify for at least $1,000. I have never had to pay for a scholarship before. I was wondering if anyone has any info on this. I looked up the web page for them and it has different scholarships available for different majors. But how do can you tell if it is a legit scholarship program???

Scam, You never have to pay to recieve Scholarships

You should not have to pay someone to help you find a scholarship. You are basically paying them to help you find scholarships that ARE NOT GUARANTEED becuase you paid them. You can do that on your own by going to websites like www.collegeanswer.com. They hold over 2.4 million different type of scholarships and just for using there service which again it is free you are entered to a 1,000 scholarships giveaway. All you do is fill out your profile like who you are what are your interest, etc... www.fastweb.com is another good one. When you fill out the FAFSA to apply for Federal aid be careful when you enter the web address. If you go to www.fafsa.com it takes you to a service to where you pay a fee they will fill out the FAFSA for you claiming that they will guarantee your FAFSA is complete accuratly and track it for you. Although they may be a legite service there is no need to pay some to fill it out for you when it is easy to complete and there are edits even within the FAFSA on the web to catch common errors. If there are errors you or the school can update them online quick and easy. The offical website to complete the FAFSA is www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you do not understand something you can call the Federal processors for free and you can also call your schools financial aid office. Do not pay them. Save that money!!!

You can get free scholarship info here: http://www.thebigwww.com/scholarship.html

http://www.lehigh.edu/~infao/index.htm go to this url above!!! I just received a letter today about this USA Scholarship Services Scholarship for Biology majors to receive $7,500 scholarship and asking for 25 bucks!!! Or in other words the same one as you...so I decided to google its name b/c it sounded like a scam and long and behold this was the first thing that popped out on the url held above [ IMPORTANT MESSAGE: We have recently been made aware that Lehigh University students are being solicited by scholarship search companies. We strongly urge you to check any company with the Better Business Bureau and we advise against using any company that requires payment to do a search. Lehigh University does not sell names to any company. The two most recent solicitations were issued through "College Financial Advisory" and "USA Scholarship Services". ] If you follow the page to a link in the bottom for Scholarship Scams and search for this supposed "USA Scholarship Services" it will show you all of it court cases and fraudalent activity. You could probably find any other legit or illegit scholarship companies on the site. Good luck I know all us health majors need it!!! And just in case I am under my little brother's user name because I don't have a yahoo id and I just stumbled upon your post through google, so if anyone else needs to see this here's your red flag!!!! :-)
