Quite
a few hospitals in California and the Southwest are failing and closing
as a result of the massive losses from illegal aliens, who simply
refuse to pay their hospital bills. As a result, many hospitals will
not sponsor foreign nurses since sponsorship costs too much & they
have no money.
While there is still some demand for nurses and other medical
specialties at present, hiring is way down in every category throughout
the US. Over 31 million Americans are now unemployed and desperate for
work. You can apply for jobs and see if someone will hire you, but
certainly don't hold out much hope at this time, especially if you need
an employment visa.
Do note that many of the foreign "registered nurses" (according to their
own countries' standards) who come to the US end up working as nurses
aides (even uncertified nurses aides), not RNs. The pay for such
positions is not really something you can survive on in a high-tax,
high-cost country like the US. Remember, total taxes now take over half
your gross pay!

If you wanted to work in the US
legally you would need a visa and due to retrogression you have a wait
of several years ahead of you.
