A TIN stands for taxpayer identification number and it only has value when you do your taxes. Even if you are illegal and you work, you need to report your earnings to the IRS. I believe it starts with a 996. Call the Social Security Administration in your state, but I don't think its much you can do if you are illegal.

You will need to go back to what country you came from and go thru the legal way of being here. WITHOUT a SSN can't get work at all. Well not suppose to.

If you do not have a social security card, this means either you are here in the states illegialy, or you need to still file for one-which your parents/guardian should of done for you long ago. If it is the first, you will need to obtain at least a green card and possibly a student visa. There are lawyers who specialize in this whom you could contact for the information you need, as well as costs. Just consulting these lawyers is generally free so you could at least come away with knowing whom to contact to get the ball rolling for you. Otherwise, if you know your country of origin you might wish to contact the embassy for that country-they may have some excellent resources for you to try. If you can or wish to obtain full US citizenship, there are a few steps that must be taken, but someone else would have to answer them as being a natural born american myself I would not know off hand. Again, lawyers who work with immigrants are a excellent source of informed information. By obtaining full citizenship, you may qualify for grants and loans that could help you a great deal with the Nursing courses costs, as well as living expenses if you choose to attend school full time. Good luck! :)

If you are an illegal alien, you can not be licensed as a nurse. You can not work legally at all. It's impossible. An ITIN must be used in conjunction with a legal visa for employment and identification purposes.
