Will being a male, having come recently to USA, and having good grades affect my chances to go to college?I'd
like to know if mentioning these facts might make me a more attractive
candidate to admission nursing college counselors.
Being a male?
I came to the US about 2 years ago and I am doing well at school. I am
undecided ,however,on wether or not I should mention my outstanding
progress on my application (I did not know very much english when I
came. I was still able to keep up.)

Gender
won't matter and unless you're an illegal immigrant, colleges should
love you if you have good grades and 'outstanding progress.' Your
college application should reflect as much achievement as it should for
the past four years of high school. Don't be so modest, show off if
you've got the talent.

The US has rules against using
things such as gender for admissions. Yes, they would love to diversify
the class and add males, but they have to be competent. You'll have to
compete like every other applicant.

Nursing is no
longer a "female profession"....there are many male nurses! So no,
sorry, won't make you "more attractive"....only high grades!!!!!!!!
